Hi all

i made a teflon bag rider up last week and shot my best score ever with it on the weekend.

could be a good thing?

14mm / 8mm PTFE teflon tube.
The teflon is 90% teflon and 10% of another polymer to improve wear resistance and reduce flex.
The stainless rod inside is 8.15mm 3D printer rod with associated drive motor adapter i use to lock it up at the rear. The extra weight on the rear has been beneficial and welcomed.

The front end has a 3D printer Precision bearing. and the lot has been trued with a laser line/level.

Total cost was $41 including postage of all components. The teflon tube from Germany was the most expensive part.

Total time, about an hour to make and align and a couple of weeks for all the components to arrive.
its amazingly slick on cordura ears. and i think well worth the effort.

I have used Teflon tape on my stocks and you can feel the improvement. Teflon tape is pretty expensive, but if your stock already fits the bag perfectly then it's a nice way to reduce friction.

Going off the shape of your stock, if you were not using a similar device to get a level surface riding your bag, you most certainly would have noticed an improvement IMO.

As Josh said, a lot of folk use Teflon tape.

i have teflon tape and fabric and teflon sheets and because they have a fabric or glass core and textured outer surface. The ridges hang up and a lot of the advantage of teflon is lost unless its run 45 deg across each other and even then its not as slippery. Teflon on teflon is the best. teflon on teflon tape, you can feel the difference. Tape would still be beneficial.

im trying to reduce the effect of the rail grabbing under recoil, say on the right side of the bag ever so slightly and pulling the muzzle left. This wont stop that pressure, but will reduce its effect.

i normally use a rail and was a good 10% better in score last week than i have ever shot.
It could just be mindset? not sure, it just felt like it fall back on target like it never has before.

The tape I have doesn't have any ridges, it's dead flat. It might be something slightly different maybe

Thanks, i didnt realise they had smooth teflon tape. I will get some for the rear bag when its finished.

i also made up a new front rest. Its triangular in shape. And sits beautifully on the worst contours i could throw at it. The most stable shape is a triangle, so stands to reason it would work as it does.
