A Kiwi Introduction

Hello Guys (from "across the ditch" in Invercargill)
I've been looking at a lot of competition forums and I have to say that this is the best forum on the net for F Class, I've already perused several threads, and gained a lot from them, some of them like the "Recoil & Stock design" thread contain information that is simply nowhere else obtainable, and believe me I've looked.
My shooting background is mainly hunting related and I have a modest collection of original Mauser sporting rifles. Although I did shoot some small and fullbore before I was 20 (that was more than 35 years ago !!) recently I have gotten back into "accuracy stuff" and bought a Ruger Precision rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. It has been followed by a much worked over Omark in 223 (built by the late Din Collings, a name that may be familiar to some of you older guys who have shot trans Tasman matches) and I'm going to concentrate on the 223 Omark shooting FTR on our local range to 600 yards.
The Omark is not a limitation, I have already discovered that I am my biggest handicap, I can go and shoot 3 to 5 v-bulls in a row then drop a 4 and/or some 5's. However I'm approaching it in the same way that good golfers do, I'm going to play to lower my handicap rather than just shoot a score better than some other bloke.
I have many, many questions, I hope for your forebearance if they are a bit obvious, I know that on most forums the longer serving (suffering?) members have already seen and answered similar questions many times.
Cheers
Foster
