For those of you who know me, you know that I have one daughter, Alison aged 15, who has shot with me since turning 12 yrs old and now have my second daughter, Katrina, aged 12 who started shooting in November last year. The girls shoot for the privilege of the front seat home. As was commented on the range several times in recent months, I'm lucky they can't drive because I would be on the back seat......

So today Alison commenced shooting at 500m. She scored a 59.6 - dropped the first scoring shot. Apparently dad's fault because I didn't tell her I scrubbed the barrel....

Then Katrina shot a 60.8 keeping her first two 6 sighters (I got her to fire off the sighters - would have been a 60.9 if she cut them)

For the 2nd stage, Alison shot a perfect 60.10

Katrina then proceeds to shoot a 60.7 for her second stage - still learning to wind the scope and need a click or two up...


The tale at the end of the day -

Katrina - 120.15
Alison - 119.16
Dad - back seat

Oh well, you can take solace in knowing that you sire good shooters and can tune a rifle, even if you cant shoot like a little girl.

That's sensational. That your daughters are shooting with you, out shooting you and shooting like that.

Wow , awesome ! It's very nerve racking watching your kids shoot , especially when they have a tough one! But not this time , that's great !

I think Steve is over that stage.
Steve, how old was Alison when she won some ranges in the NSW Queens, including the final range at 800M, was she 12,13? She has been embarrassing a few of us big hairy chested macho shooters at OPMs for a few years now and now her little sister is looking set to embarrass a few of us as well.

Steve, well done on siring great shooters! That is some great shooting

You will have to wait till they are in years 11&12 at school, as they'll be too busy studying so unable to shoot. That will be your time to shine again

My son has a shorter handicap than me in pennant, so it is a good thing he is in year 12 now!

Keep reloading, and remember it is your job to fire the fouling shots for the day.
