Barrel tune and front tunnel

While on my home from Bundy yesterday I got to thinking about the new front tunnel I'm using. It's a height adjustable 30mm right site. I adjust the height of the front tunnel for different distances as well as the rear. What I was wandering was would the height difference make any difference the the barrel harmonics. I know that moving the mount forward would, but not sure about up and down.

Interesting point, but again , when a bullet is going 250,00 rpm and the barrel is like a tuning fork , I guess it will and has too make a change , How I dont know, But would be a good play and see with a good scope mounted , :?: Chop

May the newbe ask a silly question.... What is a front tunnel ? Is this on a Target Rifle ?

Not so silly considering they are now 30mm in diameter, and quite a few people now use diopters in there too :!: You could be forgiven if you thought it was some
type of scope

He is talking about a Target Rifle using an adjustable front sight. This aids in keeping the eye height within a smaller range of vertical movement at the butt. You would appreciate it if you compared the height of the rear peep at 300 yards to what it ends up being at 1000 yards for a 308 caliber rifle.

Scott, this is fairly insignificant on a TR and may dampen lateral effects. Moving your sight block backward and forward may find a sweet spot.
