COAL of 260 AI

Post by Tim N »

Hi All,
I'm thinking of building a 260 AI or 243 AI for a bit of fun on a Remington action and I want it to feed from a magazine.
Will I need to use a long action?
Can someone give me an overall length?
Thanks

I've seen some made on a Remington short action (same as 308 etc).
they'll work OK if you seat your projectiles in to suit,.....but the long action will let you use them seated out as far as you want and still mag feed good.

Hi Tim

My 260AI is 2.965" overall. That is touching the lands with a 140 hybrid.

Cheers

Thanks Chris,
Looks like a long action will be best suited, unless I single feed it.

Hi Tim
It really depends on the reamer, and how close to lands you want to be.
