SEB OR FARLEY?

Im currently looking at upgrading my front rest.
Would like some info about both? pros/cons

Both are good. Or you could get a Farley style joystick rest from Varide Cicognani in Italy. They make a Farley look agricultural by comparison in build quality. Just be prepared for the long wait for Italian Customs to clear it for export...

I have a Seb Neo , I'm very happy with . Jasmay is the Au dealer if you want to get in touch with him !

An advantage of a SEB is that they are ambidextrous and if you are to on sell it one day your market is not limited. Also it allows guests of both orientations to use your rest.

Seb mini for $1000, i have one and its very good.

As long as the forend dimensions are correct in surface area contact and the rest is not setup to clamp the stock down.

I just got a Seb Mini, although much lighter than a Neo its every bit as stable and is an awesome bit of kit.

Has anyone had any dramas or faults that needed to be fixed and if so what was the manufacturer like to deal with in getting the part replaced/repaired..

I purcahsed a first Gen Seb about 3 years ago and then sent it to Seb for overhaul and came back better than new.

However I purchased another one which needed the same work....was sloppy and the teflon plates were worn this time I was advised Seb was unable to assist due to changing tooling etc

Read into as you like about servicing / repairs.

Has anyone had both? If so what do you use now?

Waiting on one of these to complement my Dolphin co-axial.

Farley for me, wouldn't consider a SEB.

One thing i like about the seb which does stand out to me is the two posts... This looks alot more ridged in design than the single post farley..

Has anyone had one and sold it for the other, if so id like to know why?

I havent used either of the two rests yet, ive only looked at them from a distance..
I guess im trying to work out which is the toyota and which is the nissan...
I have been told that the seb rest has a component within the joystick operation that wears and becomes sloppy, over a 6month period... (unsure if this information is true, has anyone else noticed or had a issue?)

Im looking at purchasing a joystick soon, as i need one for the young fella who turns 12 in a couple of months and cant reach the side windage on a standard BR rest when laying on the ground..

Even though the Farley on has one post holding the upper part on, it is very rigid when the locking nut is done up. I wouldn't discount the Farley on that fact alone.
