Has anyone tried the 30mm high impact acrylic rings from the q store. I'm hoping they're ok, because it's all they have.

Have run the thirties, but I've used acrylics off & on for 40 or so years.

Just take care cleaning/maintaining them.

Hi Scott,
Haven't tried a 30mm foresight yet, so unfortunately can't share ring preferences there, but I did have my first experienced with 1mm annulus 22mm rings at the weekend and it was complete disaster.
The group was very wide (perhaps I needed to adjust the rear aperture to a different lighting) but as soon as in installed my usual 2mm ring the group improved significantly. We were shooting 900yrds and at that distance I was told thinner rings would (for some) be an improvement.

Seems that determining the ring that works is definitely an individual preference to me, so irrespective of other peoples success/failing with acrylic you would be best buying (borrowing) just one and trying for yourself. Good luck mate :)

John, I used to use the 22 solid clear acrylic rings in the old omark, but these are the lazer cut black (very shiny) acrylic ones that are cut the same as the steel rings.
Gerard, I'm not a fan of the 1mm rings either, but mainly because of my shitty eye sight. I can't focus them properly. But don't let 1 experience stop you from trying them again, you'd be surprised at what you can get used to.

I m getting my pocket money for a Sumo package (within the next couple of months), with his steel rings. His 30 mm rings in 2mm annulus are bomb proof. From what I saw on the weekend at Muckadilla, there were more than one problem experienced with adjustable front iris's... so I am rings all the way

Yeh, that'll be the last time I have an adjustable iris on a full bore rifle.
