Re: 2209 in 280 Ackley

I just picked up my Saum Bart barrel with Larson tuner fitted and a 25” 2nd hand Maddco Saum barrel for testing and leaning the cal . It usually takes me up to 2 years to learn a caliber. The quickest one to learn was the .284 which was 3 weeks . ) SAUM takes about 3 weeks, one of the reasons I thi...

Re: F class shooter Julian Daley just became Australian A grade trap champion as a newbie

The only similarities I think, would be the ability to concentrate when needed & totally relax your mind when you get a chance. Anyone after a few lessons can hit a clay target, not that hard really, but to be able to hit 20 or 50 or 100 in a row all comes down to concentration. The double barre...

Re: Alpha munitions brass

Interesting,
I have a box of 308 cases here. Waiting for a magical barrel to turn up before I do any testing.

The yanks are raving about the consistency of the cases.
Weighed 20, and 17 of them are less than 0.5gn difference, and aprox 4gn heavier than a Lapua Palma cases.

Re: Looking at EJ-123 scale for greater reloading accuracy. Any experience?

I have both the EJ & the FX scales. Originally had the EJ, & while they are accurate, they are fairly slow to read weight changes, which makes it difficult to trickle loads. Now use the EJ for weighing cases, primers etc & the FX is setup with auto throw & trickler. My advice would b...

Shooting Australia's target sport athlete of the year

Was there an awards night last week, and one of our own, won the shooter of the year award ?

Cannot seem to find anything on the NRAA site about it. I believe there was an NRAA rep who accepted the prize for the winner.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me ?

Re: Varying powder charge summer/winter?

It has been known to happen as a machinist, if you removed too much material from a bore, there is a trick with an oxy that will close up the dimensions of said bore, basically making it smaller, so the machinist can have another go at his size. Have personally seen it done on numerous occasions. Sa...
