Re: NSWRA Queens Cancelled

A bit disappointing but given the COVID spike in Victoria, not unexpected if NSW ends up with an outbreak. I'm hoping ACT Queens goes ahead in November, might be our only chance for a Queens this year. Last chance would be Victorian State Championships in December.... after that it's either Tassie ...

Re: Proj jump - barrel wear

Well, I'm running a 280AI at the moment and on my second barrel. First barrel lasted 2000 rounds and I used VLD bullets jammed exclusively. Velocity hovered around 2800fps. Second barrel I'm running hybrids, jumped about 30 thou and so far this barrel looks to be on track to achieve a very similar l...

Re: Primer pocket prep

I used to deburr and chamfer my primer pockets, stopped doing that when I upgraded my ultrasonic cleaner, seems to clean them out quite well.

Suffered this with some old Norma 280AI brass last week - subsequently it proved to be the last firing for that brass.

Re: Barrels and gunsmith

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum. Please forgive me if it sounds like a rant. I would really like to hear what experiences others have had. I recently acquired a custom build panda action. The rifle itself is well made but it took over 19 months to build and the gunsmith only deals with one type o...

Re: Scales

Never tried a beam scale but started off with a Lyman Gen 5 electronic scale which got me by for 3-4 years before dropping the hammer on a set of A&D FZ500i scales ($1300), then discovered the Lyman would throw as much as 0.2gr under or over, for a 0.4gr variance. Not ideal for F-class so in ter...

Re: The first Queen’s shoot post kungflu

I'm getting more and more confident NSW Queens will be a goer, and by the end of the year ACT and Victoria should be sweet. There might be quite a bit of driving happening in November/December.

Re: IBI barrels and ZERO TECH Scopes

I've got two IBI barrels sitting at home in 6mm, 7.5 twist. Yet to get them chambered but one of them will be spun up as a 6GT down the track.

Re: Ezell barrel tuners

Ezell barrel tuners are easy to get. I've got 2 on the way right now via Reloading International. They stock them and there's no paperwork required to get one. I've also got an Erik Cortina tuner sitting idly by.
