Re: Concentricity

Ha ha true Rich, doesn't matter how much we prep a case if we have poor technique and can't read the wind.

Re: Concentricity

Thanks for that information Graham, very useful.
Ha ha yes mate, will be a bit of dust to brush off gear when we get back to the mound.

Re: Concentricity

Hi Rich

Was talking about the Hornardy concentricity gauge which straighten the projectile so it is parallel to the casing.
Do you, think it is worth taking the time to do this and does anyone think it improves accuracy?

Concentricity

Hi

A question to F-class/open shooters.
Is it worthwhile adjusting the run-out of a projectile with a concentricity tool such as a Hornady? Does it improve accuracy?

Cheers

Re: Which caliber to ahoot for new shooter

Not sure why you selected my post Gyro and posted a comment. My point was I have seen all calibres win at shoots so don't blame the gear.

Re: Which caliber to ahoot for new shooter

Hi Daniel As you can see there are many opinions amoungst us shooters but Tim L hit the nail on the head. I am a shooter and a fisher and both come up with great excuses and blame the gear including the rifle calibre we use. I have seen all calibres win and the one common denominator is a good shoot...

Re: Lapua Brass Getting Better

I use the KM neck turning kit to true up (make parallel) the outside of my casing necks which works really well.
Is there a tool on the market to true up the inside of a casing neck?

Thanks
Jason.

Re: Round count

That was the reponse I was expecting.
I can't bring myself to leave my barrel and not clean it after a shoot but interestly many do.

Re: Round count

So I am only repeating what two reputable gunsmiths have told me and also what an excellent well known fullbore shooter has told me. Gunsmiths, never use copper brushes, use cleaners and nylon brushes if necessary. Fullbore shooter, often we over clean the barrel, he cleans his barrel only after 100...

Re: stuck cases

Hi Copper Agree with blowemup, if that doesn't work try FL re-sizing with the shoulder set back slightly more, say 1.223" and see what the result is, could be a bad batch? Can you let us know how you go so we all learn. Hope this helps somewhat, rather try to help than pull you, down like some o...

Re: New Shells?

They will them form to your new set up.

Re: Sell Your Guns Cheap Online

Good on you and thanks for taking the time to set up the website.
What is the differences we should look out for between this usedguns.com.au site and the other usedguns.com.au site?

Cheers

Re: 155gr eld match loads

Accuracy is excellent however I would not recommend them if you are shooting on small properties as they do go straight through and out the other side. As an example when I was sighting in with a new scope I was out west and only using an A4 piece of paper between two star pickets. It was a slightly...

Re: 155gr eld match loads

I do not use 155 ELD's for F-class but do use them a lot in my tikka T3 .308 for hunting. I use benchmark 8208 and I can vouch for 44.3 to 44.5 grains with very good results out to 700 yards. And note this is with quite a large jump, large enough so the loads fit into a magazine. So with a bit of lo...
