I use a very mild load of 51grs of 2209 behind 168gr sierras or bergers. This load has grouped at 5 inches at 1000yards and run up some very good scores on the old and new f open targets. I have found 2209 better with the 175's on the few occasions i tried them. I found the 168gr sierra superior in u...

I would have thought there was room at our ranges for anyone, regardless of the "style" of rifle they turned up with as long as it fell within the rules. Not every shooter wishes to own a single shot dedicated f class rifle but they still wish to shoot and learn wind reading etc. Why do we try to al...

I had an McMillan F class and found a flex or torque problem on my 284.
I currently have an MBR and love it.
Rides the bags well and has no flex issues.
I use it both at F class and BR.

Quite a few shooters think bigger is better. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the little 6mm BR still hold the world record at 1000 yards. Which world record? Whilst I love my 6br the smallest group records are currently held by big boomers in BR shooting.IBS The 5 shot by a 300 hulk(338 lapua ...

I used to own three nf nxs scopes.I sold them and now own 5 nf br scopes. I prefer the br by a long shot. There is no problem getting back beyond 1000 meters with the 20 moa rail.A 308 will get to 1200 yards without any dramas. I also own the same model leupold as yours, this is my third one after lo...

I have competed against a few savage f/tr and they shoot well.I haven't seen one do a 1" at 500 yet but that may have been the drivers.
As a matter of interest I haven't see too many rifles do 1" at 500 yards.

I hate the nosler brass.I have switched to RWS for my 280AI and it is much better.Dear but lasts and allows you to run the 280AI a fair bit harder.

So, ballistic nonsense aside, you CAN easily get 2950 fps out of a Shehane, you just get case head expansion, loose primers, or have to use 168gn bullets or RL17 powder. So if someone was starting from scratch, with no dies, cases, reamers or anything. What 7mm cartridge would the S.A shooters reco...

The 223 will run with the 308 in still weather. I have shot possibles using a 1:9 twist back to 700 yards with the 69 grainers.I ran a 1:7 with the 80gr for awhile but got disappointed in the batches of projectiles I got. The 308 will shoot as far back as the shooter needs on a 1MOA target. I honest...

Except for the Bartlein(never had one) I have owned 3 or more barrels(whoops only two Broughtons) of each type and have had a dud in each except maddco.I have used a lot and everyone was above average.Yet the very best barrel I have had is a lilja followed by a tobler. Trick is not to waste that sup...
