Re: North Queensland F-Class - Long Range Bisley Challenge

Best part really was 55 rounds Bisley at 1000 yards on manual targets within 24 hours I reckon!
We just don't get that opportunity at any Australian matches!

And the Bisley format meant barrels didn't heat as much as a 10 shot string fire event!

NRAA National Queens

Interesting nomination numbers at Belmont this year.
The Trans Tasman F Class and Teams trials has added F Class numbers.
Total Target rifle numbers are 72
Total F Standard 26
FO 30
F/TR 31
Thus 87 total F Class

Re: New Sporter/Hunter Class...is your club promoting it?

I can't agree with you Bruce 1. You would be surprised with how many Ruger Precision; Tikka TacA1 are out there with scopes like the NF SHV 5-20 for example. 2. Also there has been a real increase in long range shooting / hunting - many people shooting steel on private property at extended ranges. 3...

Re: Remington XR-100 223 F Standard or FTR

I started competing in F Standard just over 10 years ago with XR100 204 converted to 223 and it was very, very accurate and competitive out to 600M A great starter rifle as long as you don't expect it to drill X at 1000! A lot of ranges top out shorter than that so it would be fine. I have also had ...

Re: Is my scope Broke ?

Graham Do the test Frank advises above but also exercise the elevation / windage turrets to their extreme several times. Then box test it at 100 or 300 - just make sure you have a perfect aim point without mirage I had a Comp giving elevation in US a couple of years ago. Box tested at 100 yards and ...

Re: Berger 210VLDs Loads for F/TR

throat length determines available powder charge and pressure
long throats required for max velocity
If a 155 throat then ???
1/11 possibly marginal twist if at higher altitudes / lower density
