Re: Copperhead projectile approval?

Alan To get the ball rolling you would need a State Association to put it to the board for approval. I would suggest asking Ken if he could handle supply first thou. Matt P Thanks Matt, asking Ken would be a first priority, if there was to be a follow on that members would benefit having his projec...

Copperhead projectile approval?

Hey fellas, With Berger bullets being harder to obtain in Australia, would this be an opportunity to raise the question about getting both Copperhead 22 and 30cal projectiles approved, for use in both TR and FS? - quality bullet made in our own backyard - gives shooters another option. - makes it ha...

Re: Reversing a Barrel when Rechambering

That's the thing Alan the barrels bore diameter will have a taper, and if you chamber it from the other end the muzzle will be larger... (This taper will be exaggerated as the barrel is a 260 Ackley and 600 rnds old and will have worn..)

Re: Carbon cleaning methods curious after borescoping club barrels

AlanF I leave both Hoppes no9 or no9 benchrest in barrels for storage and will leave it in for months, but I always keep them wet and don't allow them to dry up.... I have never seen any evidence of damage.. Saying that I'll foam up and leave sweets in a barrel over night and push it out in the morn...

Yes, A friend of mine had an issue once.. The airline was concerned that the packet of projectiles could be put into a sock and used as a weapon...

Re: KEEP ME IN TUNE

wsftr, Basically you can never over clean a barrel in my opinion, if you condition your barrel before firing that first shot.. By conditioning i mean creating an environment in your clean barrel that replicates a barrel that's settled.. (Settled doesn't mean "dirty" your barrel has now act...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

David,

Thanks for the information above much appreciated. My thought process has now changed in regards to your diagrams, knowing a few more details.
I would be assuming the rifle was sitting in a V Block?
Your tribal comment is too true  .

Cheers

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

So if we think about it, the speed of the bullet less important than the speed of the vibrations. Point two of a grain of powder extra, won't change bullet speed much, but it has a big impact on vibration speed as do small tuner movements. The above quote is exact reasoning why i dont take any noti...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

Barry, Yes, i understand your question, but weight effects rifle behaviour.. Both weights were total free recoil the only resistance was its own weight... This was something i tested 15yrs ago, ive also re tested this when the first lab radar came out, and got the same results, as i was skeptical ab...

Re: More on Barrel Tuners

How can the way you handle a rifle have an effect on muzzle velocities? Barry Im curious to this aswell Barry... One of my Heavy bench rifles was 120lb and there was minimal recoil, we actually reduced the rifles weight by 45lb to allow it to recoil substantially more, muzzle velocities did not cha...

Re: JUNIOR “F"CLASS Coaching Clinic

We will be there if the young fella is still keen.. His only 12 but has some shooting experience shot his first 3 ranges at 500 last weekend with his dasher.. 59.5 / 59.7 / 59.8x (proud moment  ) My only concern is he gets bored easily and i think he finds the format slow between ranges, so im ...

Re: Stock Rigidity

My only suggestion is if you are going to go down the ridgid stock path, think about the materials that it's made from and the qualities it has in regards to "absorption".... I can tell you now that those stocks i think your talking about have very poor absorption qualities, which has quit...
