Due to a transfer with work it looks like I’ll be moving to Townsville next year. Can anyone tell me much about the f class shooting that goes on up there?
Cheers

Re: Townsville
Hi Jake,
Townsville has a few open shooters running various 6, 6.5 and 7s.
A few FTR, generally running 200+ projectiles
Quite a number of FStd shooters
Ages from 13 to ,,,, older
Shooting is every Sunday, the range callender can be found on the TMRC website https://tmrc.com.au/calendar
The range is metric, 300 to 900 and we shoot on Konsbergs.
Its a great facility, large clubhouse, toilets, showers, powered camp sites etc. Theres a 200m range that's great for load development and scope setup, with a big covered firing point, concrete benches and work benches.
Generally conditions are calm but tricky. Rather than 20kph cross winds we have twitchy changes that can frustrate the best. Marage can be not there at all, giving a perfectly clear X at 900, or obliterate the rings on the aiming mark at 600. Flags can lie as well as any!
It's not the sort of range that will destroy a shooters confidence, but it doesn't hand out 60s like a politicians promises either.
On your first trip out there just don't make the mistake of turning into the SSAA range, carry on about 2km more and you'll see our sign on the left
Any other questions just post them up or PM me.
