Well this started out with the threat of all lever guns and it's ended in a shambles . How long can the NFA review go for and leave so much uncertainty! The lever shotgun Iac can hold 7 shots now on a cat A license (5 plus 2). It has been here since the late 90's with no massacres ever! The crims can't cut it down like a double barrel as it wouldn't work .
They should admit defeat and just leave our "successful gun laws " alone , as they are !
Just a note that the 5 shot Adler can be turned into a 7 Shot very easily and it's legal because it's under 10 shots!
It has also devided the Government with Abbot being called a liar by Mr Turnbull!

What a mess! #-o

This post and the NFA review is slowly wearing me down , to the point where I really had to push myself to keep you all posted.
I just heard on ABC radio , that the Adler 7 shot shot gun is going to be classified as cat d this Friday at the latest coag meeting.

You guys now the drill and most would likely have letters already written and send them to your local mp .
This is most likely the thin edge of the wedge .

I sent this to the deputy PM via messenger but I received a generated reply that he does not answer from there, but, I presume he does read them?
The quote is direct from our ill informed PM! Just hope to hell that his other decisions are not based on total ignorance! [-o<

Quote:"Different proposals have been mentioned but if, for example, lever action guns with a magazine of more than five rounds were classified as category D, that would be available to very few users at all," Mr Turnbull said.
*Could you please inform our PM that he needs to know what he is talking about before making comments like this which only prove how out of touch many MP's are with rural affairs. This would make a lever action Henry pea rifle with its tube magazine a Cat D.

I know this isn't the point here but it's a shame this particular gun that's caused the uproar seems to be a piece of junk

The question that's always lurked in my mind is whether the balloon went up about the Adler before or after those ads were aired.

From shooters union Qld . Please look up their website for the appropriate email addresses.

They're at it again...
It's time to stand up & fight!
This Friday our Premiers will vote on whether to ban lever action shotguns with greater than 5 shot capacity. This could very well be the thin edge of the wedge in regard to future firearm legislation.

There are one million licensed firearm owners in Australia and every one of you need to make your voice heard by emailing the Prime Minister, your State Premier and your local member. It’s never been so important to act. Your voice truly matters.

You can choose to do nothing or you can choose to fight for the future of your preferred pastime. Start emailing now and encourage every shooter you know to do the same.

Let’s not just let this happen without a fight!! What can you do?

The FWPWG has had these restrictions drafted since 2005 according to an FOI request by WISH. Some people are blaming NIOA for their advertising etc but in doing so miss the key point - it shouldn't matter, it's not a bloody machine gun ! It's not a gun that I'm interested in but we should not just take the 'I'm alright jack' approach because the Antis will be busy working on their next bite at the shooting sports. Just wait till they start talking about deadly sniper rifles that can kill with a single shot from hundreds of metres away.
