Peter Smith is Critically Ill
Have just heard that Peter Smith (pjifl) has had a major heart complication (on Wednesday) and is in intensive care at Cairns Base Hospital in an induced coma. Latest reports are that he's showing some signs of improvement. Most of us are too far away to visit him, so lets put some messages of support here, and when he gets back on the forum, he'll realise that his main objective must be to get well, and get back to shooting.
Peter, you're a national treasure of F-Class. We're thinking of you at what must be a very distressing time. Just hang on in there and we'll see you on the range (and on the forum) again soon.
Alan

Re: Peter Smith is Critically Ill
Don't know Peter personally but have seen his contributions to this forum as well as heard so much about him.
My best wishes to Peter for a speedy recovery and to his family who will be also feeling down at this time.

Thanks Alan, and all well wishers.
I saw Peter last night. He is still in an induced state in intensive care but showing slow, steady signs of improvement.
In one way or another I think Peter has touched, helped and influenced just about every shooter in the F class community in some way. He shot TR for many years before that and his ideas, scientific analysis and ingenuity have carried over into many other disciplines as well. To quote a friend of both of ours "Peter has forgotten more about shooting than most will ever know."
I agree Alan, he is a national treasure, an incredible mind and a very giving person. He has a huge heart so hope it gets him through this.
Good Luck Peter - we all need you more than you realise.

I have shot with Peter only on a coupel of occasions, he's always been a great presence on the range and I love seeing what contraption he has come up with that is helping him punch those high x count 60's he seems to produce regularly.
All the best mate, get well!!
