#1 Postby Wal86 » Sun Dec 16, 2018 11:23 am

Its been 8 months and Cowan is enjoying his fclass shooting, so we decided to build him something more suitable for the job, and keep the recoil down too a minimum... (His only a little tacker)

6XC
borden action
30" krieger HV
McMillian stock MBR (solid fibreglass)
jewell trigger
March 10x60
9.95kg

Ben,

I went with the XC, over the dasher mainly to eliminate fireforming of brass.. I dont think there is any trade off between the two cartridges if anything the XC should give him "marginally" better ballistics.. (Nut driving it still has to do his part )

Are you planning on running 105 class pills or 115’s??

I have been going around in circles looking at the hotter 6mm options for that little extra ballistic advantage. Eyeing off 6XC, SLR, creed and x47.

But for me the Dasher is stupid easy to make shoot and has still has plenty of performance. I’m sure Cowan will show us what a hammer his new XC is!!!

Yeah my plan is to run Berger 108gr BT (first choice).. Might even give the 110gr SMK a go aswell.

Looking at all those cartridges they are all very similar, id be looking specifically at brass quality and availability before making a decision... (Im glad I got my norma XC brass when I did)
The Dasher is a ripper cartridge, I just haven't gone down the XC path yet. With any luck it's a shooter..
