The first Queen’s shoot post kungflu

#1 Postby Tim N » Fri Apr 10, 2020 7:50 am

Hi All,
Being somewhat of a glass half full optimist- I’m wondering if the QLD Queen’s in August could be our first shoot to look forward to?
Hopefully the first major shoot will have an excellent roll up of rusty shooters keen to get things rolling again.
It will be interesting to see if scores are lower than usual or if the lack of practice doesn’t make much difference at all.
My guess is we will all have super well prepared brass and plenty of testing to do when allowed out again.
Anyway I hope you’re all doing well and look forward to seeing you on a range somewhere.

Considering the PM & Premiers are all saying things like “minimum of 6 months” that pushes us at least to September/October....

Anyway, best not say much more, the thread might get locked....

Maybe the NSW Queen’s in September
Hopefully this year will see us back at it!
It’s somewhat surreal to even say the above.

Optimism, I love it.

Whether it's Sydney or Canberra, I suspect there will be big entry numbers much drinking and lots of bullshitting. I cant wait, but will have to......

Perhaps Roderick can put on a Greco-Roman / WWF display for us, he's pretty awesome I hear.

I agree, Sep/Oct at the earliest..

Ranges might get operational sooner in SA/ WA/ NT if their restrictions are eased before others..

I think we're starting to get a greater appreciation of what we had. When things fire up again, we could see some good attendances at OPMs and Queens. Might even make the effort myself :D .

I certainly hope that by the time NSW Queens rolls around, the media have lost interest in the great plague and are back on the global warming things again, I never thought I would miss hearing Greta telling us what we are doing wrong every night on TV, but now I do.
I had heard there is sometimes some drinking and bullshitting at NSW Queens but us serious shooters steer clear of that of course.
As for Greco-Roman wrestling shows, I would love to put on a display but I am still too sore from the time the 66 year old wrapped me up like a pretzel during last years fun and games.

QRA, four months away, that would be even better.

Seems like a bit of civil disobedience is creeping into the media reports, already happening on a much larger scale in the USA. This would be quite concerning for State and Federal Governments.

I would be terribly surprised if the "group of two person" limitation is not revised shortly (this limitation is not in all states).

Closing entire beaches to genuine exercise and enforcing with Police, sounds a bit 1984' ish to me (not criticising the Police, they are awesome, have a horrible job and deserve my respect).
