Australia does well at the World Benchrest Championships

#1 Postby RDavies » Tue Sep 29, 2015 7:43 am

I have just read that Australian teams came 2nd, 3rd and 4th at the World Benchrest championships with Murray Hicks from Newcastle coming 3rd (edited) in the individuals.
Well done to all the team members who competed and did so well at St Louis in USA. =D>

Rod

Thanks for posting this. Just a small point of order - Murray came 3rd overall in the individual results. All the match results can be found here: http://www.wbc2015usa.com/ Incidentally, Murray also won the Heavy class at the NBRSA Nationals which was run at the same range preceding the WBC.

This WBC is an Aussie first, with two Aussie teams placing on the podium for the 2 gun teams, and 3 teams in the top 4.

On the last day of the event, the individual 200 yard 10 shot group match was run, and Australians took out all three medals. Of the 12 Australians attending this WBC, all but two took out at least 1 World Championship medal.

Overall, the standards of Australian shooting was outstanding, and the Americans are definitely looking over their shoulder at the Australians.
