Great work fellas, just getting warmed up.
Good luck to Mark, Daryl, Shane and Vikki over the next few days. I will be keeping an eye on the results.

Re: US F Class Nationals
SEB just posted a photo of the Mid Range Teams results, which I will put up tomorrow off a laptop.
Daryl and Mark were shooting for the Virginia Blue Team, and it seems that they might have finished in 6th place.
Bryan Litzs Michigan Team won the event dropping just 3 pts to score 1597/1600 and beating the "unbeatable" Team Sinclair by 9 pts.
The Virginia Team finished on 1569 pts, so they have had plenty of time to warm up for the main event
Hoping Vicki and Shane have had plenty of opportunity to check their loads and zeros as well.
Go get em, Aussies !

Mark has had a pretty good Day 1 of the Long Range....sitting in First place and 3 X's in front of Bryan Litz.
Daryl in 14th. Vicki in 28th......all of the above in "Master" category. Shane sitting in 6th in "Expert" category with a score that would put him in front of Daryl in Master. Very complicated !

Re: US F Class Nationals
All unranked shooters get placed in Master Class. Once you have shot in the USA, you then receive your ranking, which is why Vicki is in Master and Shane is in Expert.

Another great day for our Aussies.
Mark in about 4th overall for Day 2 with 581-20
Daryl righ behind in about 5th overall for Day 2 with 581-18
Bryan Litz next 579-19
James Crofts 578-16
Apparently plenty of F Open got smashed
Vicki still just in front of Seb Lambang
Photo doesnt show Shanes group

Re: US F Class Nationals
Some comments follow from Shane :
Left our New Mexico base with 2 excellent rifles and now mine especially is embarrassing I usually run tuners but these were so promising I neglected them.
Had some with me but did not fit them.
Bad mistake - we are 5000 ft lower here and hotter.
Plus new barrels just running in - arrived here with about. 200 rounds each.
Lost at least 10 points today to vertical.
Difficult day but I was basically happy with my wind reading.
Some big names carved up but one cannot afford any vertical on our sport today.
Mark and Darryl both shot well today.
Mark on track for an overall if he performs on Saturday.
We are not part of team - probably just as well with my rifle not up to scratch!
So we have tomorrow off!
Cheers
Shane
He sent a photo of some of their zero checking, done whilst Mark and Daryl were shooting the midrange
These next two are borrowed from Seb and James Crofts

Re: US F Class Nationals
With my quick maths, that would put Mark in front on 1171-45, with a small break over Bryan Litz on 1169-42, followed by todays Master winner Raymond Weaver on 1168-44.
Daryl's great shoot today puts him very much in the pointy end of the aggregate as well, on 1158-35, just behind today second placegetter Lou Murdica who has 1159-39
Vicki is still holding a point or two over Seb.

Some comments from Shane on yesterday's wind :
Also it was a day of pretty big wind
Holds / winds went from zero to 5.5 in one match
Middle match between 5.5 and 7.5 Moa and the quick pick up let offs of at least a minute could happen between shots.
Chap I was relayed with is from the East and shoots at Camp Butner regularly.
He was using 200 Hybrids and had 6 Moa on - said he had never run a revolution on his BR scope before!

quote The fact that Mark Fairbairn won F-TR today shows just how badly our immigration system is broken.
Fine shooting by both Mark and David.

Steve Blair is a well respected US shooter, which makes this comments about big 30 calls quite interesting :

Brutal today is all I got to say!!!
Keith, were you shooting the .300WSM? How did those 230's fare?
I sure did Ben......but they got pushed too!
How do you think they would have compared against your Shehane? No doubt, less drift>>>but how much would you guesstimate?
They are no panacea, Ben. Shot equally well, they provide a small advantage over many shots. The downside is that a .284 Shehane or .284 Win requires almost no attention while shooting and a .300 WSM with 230's must be managed constantly. So, after firing ~5000 230's in competition, I don't think the overall advantage is significant. And, if not managed properly, a disadvantage.
