Re: Crows Nest PM
It's set for 13th and 14th, and while I don't think there is a Flyer out yet, you would think they are likely to stick to the proven formula .
15 + 2 at 500 yds on the Saturday afternoon Sweepstakes....normally a walk up start about 1pm from memory.
Then on Sunday it's 10 + 2 at 600, 500, 500.
Hard working committee, great food and a good bar. Plenty of camping room, and one motel , plus a caravan park with cabins that are both on the way in to town.
Definitely should be on everyone's list for 2016

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Re: Crows Nest PM
Hi Graham, hope you are traveling ok.Looking forward to squeezing the trigger again haven't put many rounds through the Omark since Warwick. Just 10 the other day to foul the barrel after a good scrub & to make sure it was shooting ok. 4 out of a 5 shot group went in one hole at 100m I shouldered the other one. So we'll see how we go looking foward to catching up.
Cheers Tod

Re: Crows Nest PM
Hi all was a good hit out at the sweepstakes yesterday afternoon. Was quite windy 5-15kn made it challenging. 81.2 for me enough for 2nd in FS B.
Weather is looking much better today not supposed to get windy till late this afternoon.
Good luck to everyone today.
Cheers Tod

Re: Crows Nest PM
After 60 shot yesterday, according to the score boards, a rather huge 92 entered for the main day today. That necessitated shooting through lunch, calling in the locals and a few extras to take over marking while the markers had a short lunch break. The "management" of the day was excellent, with a late finish guaranteed, but not a single complaint from anyone that I was aware of.
In F Open, it was a ding dong battle right from the start between Dave Reddan from Gatton-Glenore Grove (who won our last OPM at Warwick) , Lowell Tillack from Goondiwindi who smoked the field in the last QRA Queens, and Dave Boreham from North Arm, who is consistently placed at the point end when he is home to shoot, and not off in some far flung region of the globe climbing those rather daunting communications towers to install antenna's.
Both Eventual winner Dave Reddan (179-13) and , and Third place getter Dave Boreham (178-9) just haven't listened to me when I have explained to them both that a 6.5 x 47 Lap just can't push 140 gr bullets fast enough to do well . Second placed Lowell shot one of his Bartlein 284 Win and added to a really great competition, finishing on 178-10
4th place went to my Beaudesert Clubmate Di Hannel, who dropped 3 at the 600, but then came home clean over both 500's with a huge final X count using her Bartlein barrelled 284 Win to end on 177-17
5th to Steve Connolly from Bundaberg who dropped 3-0-1 to finish on 176-14 with a Bartlein barrelled 6.5 Creedmore
6th was another Beaudesert Clubmate Steve Nelson who drove another Bartlein barrelled 284 Win for 174-122.
Beth Caskey from the Downs and myself were 7th and 8th, not sure who counted who out as we both finished on 172-10 but not sure who beat who on a count back. My "Bartlein #2" is now definitely retired to Club duties only after throwing some wild vertical shots to let me down. It's the barrel that featured in my "death of a barrel" posts and was just starting to show signs of following in the footsteps of the barrel that Bartlein replaced free of charge. Once those micro scratches start.......from the combination of canted lands, abrasive paste and a bronze brush in a rooted , non turning cleaning rod, there is no going back and it's all a pretty fast trip downhill.
Tim Pilcher from North Arm would have been next , on 171-8 with a 284 Win, followed by Plumbs 7 with 167-9 with his big knobbed 7-08 complete with many rubber O Rings.
Dennis Brown had major bedding issues all day with a very nice new GRS stocked 284 Win, and finished behind Graham.
In FTR , Nikki Slee won with 175-9, from Beaudesert President Mike Samuels on 173-7, Bob Bull from North Arm on 172-14 , Andrew McKillop from Bundaberg on 170-7, and Ron Millingen from Murwillumbah on 167-7 next, in a total field of seven.
Eleven lined up in F Std A, with victory going to the new boy from Goondiwindi, Michael Heironymus who shot 174-14 with Col Suttons old 223. I am not sure how much money we will have to pay Lowell Tillack to keep "Pud" shooting the 223 for another year or so, and doesn't let him near a good 7mm !
Sorry , not sure who finished where in Std B, so hopefully Todd can chime in with the final results there.

Re: Crows Nest PM
Hi Guys took a photo of the score board for FSB but not all of the scores had been written in.
But J Koch got 168.9 and L Pederson got 169.6 and I'm sure both these guys were in the placings.
Me and my green carbon machine managed 166.3.
So hopefully with bit of load adjustment I can catch up.
Cheers Tod
