Given that we are approximately a month away from the Vic Queens, I wanted to reach out to any interstate / international shooters, planning to attend the Victorian Queens.

If there is anything that you need assistance with (wind calls excluded) please feel free to contact me directly through ozfclass or albert@vra.asn.au.

We look forward to welcome you .

I'm in the process of selling a couple of goats and my Creadence Clear Water revival set to see if I can make it ! Not to mention also to see if I can run faster than my wife , who said she would make me less of a Man ( if u know what I mean ) if I went out of Qld shooting after NZ ! Lol!

Edit : Well it appears that my wife and family can run faster than me ! So I’m quite not the man I used be lol! So very sorry , won’t be making it ! Have fun !
Regards Graham!

Where abouts are people here staying in Bendigo for the Queens?
Any recommendations on reasonably priced accommodation convenient to the range and town?

Albert,

The VRA may be able to pay someone to run a blow off session each morning, if shooters were asked to pay $5 each day they blew off.

I know i would pay $5, and considering the numbers that did it in SA, you would easily get $50 - $100 per session.

It could be run at 7:30am each day for a 30 minute session.

Mike.

Mike,

I might be wrong but I have an idea the range standing orders have an allowed shooting start time of about 8:30?

Unfortunately this is one of the issues we have... although Mike it is a great idea.

I'm staying at the Big4 Park Lane (cabins/caravans etc) a few km out of town. Not sure about motels - management changes quite often. I have stayed at the McIvor Motor Inn in the past. Its one of the closest to the range (less than 5 mins), and several blocks from the commercial centre of town.

As an alternative maybe at the lunchtime break. It would not be ideal, but it would enable shooters to manage the cleaning around range availability?

1 hour lunch break, giving 30 minutes for fouling detail.

Mike,
The lunch break is for the markers. To have a fouling period means closing the track to the butts whilst it is occurring. I think the markers are entitled to free movement in their break. In any case we usually do not have a one hour lunch break (more like 45-50 minutes or even less if weather slows us down). How about we wait until the VRA gets its zero range operating and competitors can then blast away to their heart's content within scheduled operating hours. I do not want to put more constraints on the working conditions of what is a very professional group in the butts.

Thanks for the head up. Sounds like Big 4 Park lane is the place to be so I have booked a love shack there.

What happens in Bendigo stays in Bendigo so you will have to come down and experience it for yourself
