Removing a Glued in Action that's Sleeved

#1 Postby AlexE » Wed Sep 26, 2018 4:03 pm

Hi Folks,

I have a PSECO sleeved remington action that is glued into a fibreglass stock. I don't know what it is glued in with, nor do I know what the sleeve is glued on with.

To separate a glue in previously, I would just heat the action (hair dryer or clothes iron, usually) until the two came apart with a but of pressure on the barrel.

Any ideas how in the hell I might safely separate the two without destroying the stock, or ungluing the sleeve?

Anyone know what sort of glue sleeves are typically held on with?

I'm a little stuck for ideas on this one...

Alex
