Berger 210VLDs Loads for F/TR

#1 Postby clohne308 » Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:33 pm

I got a new 32 inch 1/11 twist Barrel which shoots the 155VLD's pretty good with BM8208. Thought I would try testing the heavier 210s . Any one got a starting point I should test from with AR2208? I believe the faster powders are not really suitable? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should really do a max load test, I.e. 1 shot starting at a low load and working up until you see pressure signs.

If you haven’t played with heavies before I would start low, around 43gr and work up...

Play it safe...

As per the advice from Jase.
I've just done it. Go with an 8-10 thou jam and start low with .5gn increments.
Check for pressure signs and stop when you get them.
You will probably find they like a jam but starting with one keeps you on the safe side.

throat length determines available powder charge and pressure
long throats required for max velocity
If a 155 throat then ???
1/11 possibly marginal twist if at higher altitudes / lower density
