Haven't heard of many rave reviews of the new copperhead 7mm 183 bullets recently, so for those that have tested them what did you find??

Have only fired a handful through a straight 284 to obtain some chronograph data, literally about 20

They have a very short bearing surface and require quite a bit less throat length than Berger 180VLD's i usually use in this barrel.

They need a good extra 1.5gr of powder to achieve same velocity as 180berger VLD

At 800 yards they hit a full 1moa higher on the target than the 180VLD does, both launched at 2820fps.

Thats as much as I can conclude with them so far, I only have one 8.5tw 284 barrel, when I eventually have it setback ill have more of a play with them.
Also have an 8.5tw SAUM needing a setback that ill give them a try in once its done

Re 7mm 183-184 grain VLD Copperhead Bullets

Yes, the problem is most chamber reamers out there, have a long Freebore length, over the 0.200” long, which doesn’t suit this Bullet, something in the 0.150” Freebore will work as they need to be seated with at least 0.010”-0.015” jam into the lands, just in my opinion to work, as they have a longer nose and not much bearing length.
But, l do plan to release a new 188-190 grain VLD Bullets with a 13 degree Secant ogive on the same long 183 grain jacket. I just need to do the time testing to see which weight is better.
As it will better suit the reamers with the longer Freebore ( to suit the Berger 180 grain VLD Bullets)
This new Bullet will be the same as the new 180 grain VLD Bullets which will be available soon.
Good shooting to all
