For my 35kg Heavy Gun, yes I would consider something bigger than a 300WSM, hurling 230gn Sierras for some tricky 500M Fly ranges, (not so much 1000yd BR) but the 300WSM is just so well balanced, easy to tune and consistently accurate that I would still resort to the “little “ 300WSM for better conditions. Hmmm, you have got me thinking, maybe there is no one ideal caliber for a 35kg Heavy Gun.”
