Odd- clean bore shots going high

#1 Postby Brad Y » Wed Mar 15, 2017 11:04 pm

Got a new barrel that has gone against the grain of every other barrel of mine. Most of them has the first clean bore shot going low at long range then the others all going higher after fouling. This one is the opposite and the clean bore shots go high and the rest go low. Anyone else had this and care to comment on the overall barrel performance? Shot a 60.7 at 800m last weekend so I have hope for it...

Could it be a positively compensated barrel ? I have 2 barrels that shoot slightly slower velocities higher than normal.

Yeah Brad , 2 new 7mm i just got going do the same thing. Usually the first shot on a clean bore fired over Ballistol drops a lot of speed and hence drops low but these 2 I have actually tend to be higher in speed with the first shot than when fouled. Go figure !!!

My new 6mm Krieger in 6 Dasher puts the first one about a minute high and
that's first time I've seen that out of about 10 6mm barrels I've had. :-? :-?

Cheers,
Chris
