Norma 6.5mm 130 gr diamond line

#1 Postby Kakaduthunder » Tue Nov 14, 2017 11:18 pm

I was wondering if anyone has tried Norma diamond line 130gr 6.5mm projectiles?

I am shooting a straight 260 mostly out to 500m in practical rifle matches. We shoot roughly 80 rounds a match and I like/need to practice, so I go through a few. I am sick of waiting for Bergers to come in to stock. These projies also seem to be very competitively priced. Does anyone have any experience?

as an alternative to Berger, Have you considered trying Copperheads? Ken makes 6.5mm VLD's in 140, 135 and 130gr. I have sample packs of all three and they have shot really well and last groups at 100y were one holer's !!! Help support an Aussie business ;-)

Silly question, but do the make 7 mm 180’s comparable to Berger vld/ hybrids?

I wasn’t aware of this company. I just had a look at their website and it does appear that there are some very suitable choices. So that could be the supply problem solved. They are however pretty much the same price as the Berger unless Ken offers discounts for bulk buys? I am happy to buy a couple of thousand at a time if they work and are at the right price. I think I will drop Ken an email. I would still like to know about the Norma’s if anyone has some experience.

Your best bet is to email Ken directly. I believe he makes up to 178gr in 7mm, according to his price list.

Prices are comparable / same as Berger. Buying in bulk is best bet to save on postage. Drop Ken an email, Has been great to deal with!

I wasn't aware of these copper head 6.5's either just had a look might give some a try. Interestingly the copper head 140 hybrid is much lower bc than the copperhead 140 vld (opposite with berger the 140 hybrid slightly higher BC than the 140 berger vld).

I was looking into the norma golden targets as well looks like you can only buy a box of 500 they are a good price like you say I read reports some saying they were a bit fussy. I ended up getting a bunch of 139 scenars. Also waiting for 140 berger hybrids but these copperheads look like a possible alternative.

Earlier in the year Ken sent me samples of his new 135 & 140 gr. V.L.D. projectiles. I shot them in my 6.5 x 55Rogue in F open and they shot very well. I shot both with my standard load I use with the Lapua 139's. I thought the 140's shot a little better than the 135's but I put that down to no load development for them.
