Heading to the UK

Post by Peterla »

Hi All,
I am heading to the UK next year for a competition F-class shoot.
I get 30 Kgs for my luggage I can use but as I shoot FO I use all of this with my rest and rifle.
The extra baggage is $60 per Kg so I thought of posting my SEB over.
I then find out I have to pay all sorts of UK tax even though it's for me and I will be posting it back. !!!!!

How have other FO shooters gone when traveling to the UK with all their gear?
Did you find a better option to get all your gear over there?

You could buy one over there and sell it when you’re done or see if you can borrow one?
Sounds like a great trip

Hi Tim
I would bu one and resell it but none over there similar to our situation here
I do not know many people over there and would love to borrow or even hire one but with not many contacts that is hard.
I will see if anyone has any other ideas or even know someone that could help me

Get in contact with Mik @ Dolphin gunworks, if he can't help you I'm sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction.

+1 - I run a Dolphin co-axial rest and IMO it's superior to Farley and SEB, buy one and bring it back with you!

Can you get your hands on a Seb mini Pete ?
They are light, and give nothing away to the Neo if you spend the time, setting it up on the mound.
And I had mine on carry on luggage on the way back from Canada, just took the feet off it and it was a camera tripod.

That will free up a lot of weight for the rest of your gear.

Hi Julian.
Great idea. I got a nice email last night from someone in the UK that is lending me a SEB neo so that put a huge smile on my face.
I just need to take my top bag as I do not want to upset his top bag with my scolloped stock.
