Price Comparisions NSWRA and QRA

I have asked the NSWRA why there is such a disparity between many of the charges for shooting supplies between themselves and the QRA.
Two striking examples -
Berger 155.5g 30 cal projectiles 500 box NSWRA $555.00 QRA $495.00
Sierra 155g 30 cal projectiles 1200 box NSWRA $804.00 QRA $660.00

As a member of NSWRA we have a right to ask.

I bought 1200 sierras for 660 and the postage, for 12.5kg, was 30 dollars. a great deal and the groups are the same as bergers for my SH rifle.

The berger prices are not 'real' because there is no stock.... when they get stock it will go up again. Many of the items at nswra come from brisbane anyways, so you have to factor in their transport costs, however i agree the 804 figure is too high.

They had stock very recently of the Bergers at $495.

So the difference in cost buying the Sierra 155s from NSWRA(and thereby supporting your local vendor) adds up to the grand total of $2.38 for a 25rnd weekend F-Class comp.

If you are a NSWRA member consider yourself truly blessed. As of now the store shows a selection of different primers in stock(at the old prices too).
In other states guys are literally begging each other for 100 so they can at least reload some rounds.

It's been said before; every time you pull the trigger on a 6/6.5mm/30cal you are literally throwing $2.50-$4.00 downrange.
The shooting sports are very expensive. Accept that or choose another activity.

I work in the industry so I know what the current wholesale cost of Sierra's is and it's way above those prices, which are going up by approx 10% every six months from most importers and distributors.

I believe both organizations are only putting a bare minimum margin on their costs. Certainly nowhere near what your average gun store does, so they are supporting their members.

Both QRA and NSWRA buy huge quantities in bulk so i'm sure they are getting better rates and they probably get many months (if not years) worth of inventory when they do buy new stock.

It's most likely that QLD still has old stock and NSW has had to replenish their stock more recently at the higher prices so I don't think NSW is ripping anyone off.
