[I’ve been mucking about with F-TR for a while now and I've never wanted to shoot F-Open, that was until I watched someone with a 6.5 shoot a whole bunch of X’s where the rifle hardly moved between shots and the muzzle blast was at least civilised.
This adventure started about four months ago and I finally got all my components together today after the usual royal muck around by firearms services.
The rifle is all new except for the stock. I bought the stock from a forum member here. He won’t recognise it as I’ve tamed it down a lot with a fresh coat of paint and fitted an Anschutz rail so I can stand it up.
Stock is by Ken Noye.
Barnard P action LH.
Bartlein barrel 1.25” straight 30” 8 twist
Kahles K1050 MOAK scope
Spuhr Mounts
Chambered by KHGS in 260 Rem.

It’s not fired a shot yet and I don't have any ammo made up.

Re: New F-Open build
Lovely bit of machinery,
How do you like the Kahles?
I‘m running the same mounts and 1050 on my F Open 6BR Eliseo R5 tube gun and recently managed a 120.14 at 600 yds with the rig.
I can suggest getting the Parallax spinner attachment that Kahles makes.
LOTS easier to use the parallax adjustment with one of those!
Maybe another sunshade extension as well now that Summer is here.
I have used a honey comb front filter but cannot say that I liked it much.... {available from me at a reasonable $}
Made by the same folks in the USA that make flip up lens covers for the scope which I do like...{:~)

ADI 2209 will be your friend.
Depending on your brass - if it needs fireforming from .308 Win etc. a 130gn ELD-M at @ 42.5gn of 2209 works superbly in my Tikka.
Great looking setup.

Kahles is an acquired taste thing. I really like it but most people don't.
The eye box is very tight, I like it because it forces you to get you head in exactly the same position each time. The parallax is fussy, again a very tight range, it's either right or not right, no latitude.
I've had 2x March and 1x Nightforce Comp. The March has great optics and the NF is average but both are let down by the multi turn windage turret. On the Kahles the windage turret is one turn from full left to full right with no chance to get lost. If it says 0, you've got zero, not zero plus whatever the vernier says.
The Kahles moves one click on target with each click, with the others I found that I had to go say 2 clicks right and one click left to get one click right ... but then I've had one Kahles sent back to Austria to get a reticle fixed, so nothing is perfect
I'm selling an as new March because the repaired Kahles is back. The March is back in the box and the Kahles is on the gun because I think it's a better scope.
Anyway that's my view.
Pete
