So Far I am looking at Raffling a rifle and maybe a scope. I manufacture Bipods so I will be raffling 1 or 2 of them.Any Ideas?
The funds will go into the general kitty for team supplies etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

We have an online shop, might be able to provide something to auction or raffle - whatever. PM me.

Benn,

A good prize for the raffle might be one of the new Savage 12F/TR (.308) or 12F (6BR or 6.5-284) rifles, complete with scope and ready to shoot. These rifles are getting great reviews for out-of-the-box accuracy in the US. I'm sure that it would be worth approaching Acacia Imports or perhaps Queensland Gun Exchange for a favourable deal. I see these Savage models as a great way of getting new F-Class shooters up and going, so promoting them via a raffle would be both good for the suppliers, and also good for bringing new shooters into the sport.

Raffle

#7 Postby bennf » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:58 pm

Hello all
I have come up with an idea that I would like some feedback on.
As Allan has eluded to Savage have new F class and Palma rifles on the market.
I would like to make the offer to Savage that we will take the rifle/s around all of the prize meetings and queens between now and july.
We would then be free to raffle the rifle/s over the same period.
I would need people to have the rifle and pass it around the meetings.
it could be posted between state rifle assoc and or dealers around the country.

What do you all think.

I belive this is a good offer for savage and if it comes off an excelent raffle prize.

I look forward to your comments.

Does this plan include WA? If not, thumbs down from me. Also, you have other offers, you might think about replying if you want people to take you seriously. Benn, the ball is in your court, not ours.

Otherwise, it is a bloody great idea for fund raising mate.

If you get a rifle for a good price, you should make a few bucks on it, but this is only one item, and one approach. You should be thinking a bit broader to capture more interest.

I.e., what about a flight, entry fees and accommodation from any place in AU to the National Queens?? I would be into that. I'm sure you can get some good prices (or better) from the people involved. Or, a series of items that are smaller, but still very useful to win as a second prize type thing - such as auto-scales, brass, barrels etc etc.

Fundraise

#10 Postby bennf » Tue Sep 09, 2008 7:32 am

My Plans for the Rifle would most definatly include WA.
I would want it to go everywhere possible. This would require the help of a lot of people to cover all of the Prize Meetings and Queens between now and July 2009.

Thanks

Savage

#11 Postby bennf » Wed Sep 10, 2008 8:14 am

Hi All
Savage have come to the party and offered 2 half price rifles
The 12 F T/R and the new palma rifledue in this month.

Who is willing to help out and take the rifles to a queens or prize meeting.
I will orgainise how to get them around the country if I have enough helpers to get them to the meetings.

Even if you are not interested in going to the FCWC we would appreciate your help.

Also what do you all think is a fair price for a ticket? $5 $10.00?

Benn,

Great news about the rifles!

I know Mike Hodder is coming to WA for our Queens at the end of September this year. It is not much time, but maybe we can arrange something via him for the West. He has all the required licenses to make it really easy for this to happen.

Otherwise, our past club president might be a good man to ask for this. He travels to many prize meetings and is known state wide. He is also a dealer, making the paperwork easy. This would be after the Queens though, as Dave is currently in the US shooting with the AU veterans.

I am sure you sell a heap of tickets here, as well as elsewhere. I don't see a problem with $10 a ticket myself.

Benn, I havnt received a PM from you.

Benn,

Well done on the deal. I can take them to Canberra and Vic. BTW, I'd recommend the 6BR model rather than 6.5 for the 12F.
