Evening all,

It was an interesting day today. Wind was generally coming up the range, and I don't think it was ever what you'd call easy. But by all accounts it was nowhere near as hard or as patchy as late yesterday.

Wilf Wright had a very good day with 3 possibles - surprised everyone I think, but he's done well in match rifle over the years so knows how to read wind. Gary Hunt has made a good start too. And Adam Davies is looking ominous with a high X count at some tough ranges in the Syme, and again today.

Some calibres :

Wilf Wright 6BR
Gary Hunt 6.5x47, 6.5-284
Adam Davies 308 Win
Alan Fraser 7 Shehane
Bill Siegloff 7 RSAUM(?)
John Tracey 284 Win
Graham Phillips 243 AI, 7 RSAUM
Rod Mahon 6 Dasher(?), 6.5-284
Ron Barich 6BR
Michael Waites 284 Win, 7 RSAUM
Wayne McFarlane 7 Shehane

Looks like the weather could be much more interesting tomorrow - forecast is for stronger wind!

More tomorrow night.

Alan

Berger 185VLD, pretty ordinary BC, but his barrel obviously likes them, and he's making the most of the wind drift improvement over the HBC.

For progressive agg after day two CLICK HERE

The top A-graders have dropped a few points which indicates how tricky conditions have been. The wind has barely reached moderate strength, but rarely settled to a steady condition.

In F-Open we have the top 5 within 4 points going into the last day - a good healthy competition. Adam Davies, myself and John Tracey all had good days today and moved up the order, but Wilf Wright and Gary Hunt are still within striking distance.

Weather will be little cooler tomorrow and winds a bit gentler from over the left shoulder. I might be quite late with the wrap up tomorrow night, but the VRA are getting the stats up fairly quickly. I might be able to do a NEWS FLASH as soon as the F-Open result is known. Who knows, we might have a shoot-off  !

Good luck to all.

Alan

alan,

stuff that matters.

Bruce

Pimping has really taken off here. To send just one or two photos would be unfair on all the others, and would spoil such a joyous occasion...

alan,
does this mean that all pimping is so outstanding that to put one above all others would be unfair, or are you vics lacking imagination such that there is no outstanding example of the pimping artform?
should the latter be the case, it will become very apparrent when measured against the south aussie team in north queensland. of course our flagship pimping effort is the "funny gun" and no one should feel belittled when their rifle is compared to it.
all the best to all shooters on the final day.
keep safe,
bruce.

Adam used a standard bipod== same one he used for FS.
Quite a nail biter the 1000yds at Bendigo, and full credit to Alan as he was last to shoot and knew what was required to win,-- not easy.
Conditions were flicking around a bit and Bendigo being what it is, caution was needed. A 58 secured it for him by 2 points.
Feel I have to mention Rod Mahon's 60.10 at 900 --- be a long time before that will be equalled.

Congrats to Matt, well done mate with a Queens win in Vic in FS! Well done Alan, looks like you had to fight for the FO win!

Special congratulations to Adam who nearly took out FO using a 308W in F T/R configuration off a bipod. Looks good for the future if F T/R equipment is this competitive!
