He may well have.....the load he gave is probably his "main load" used over the Duncan/Queens. At the end of the whole event when I spoke to Rod, things were a bit rushed for everyone, so we had better forgive him if he didnt nominate half a dozen test loads !
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Back home now and time to write my loads down.
It is a bit complicated. With my new fluted 284, I tested loads with 168gn VLDs and 180 Hybrids and ended up with a good load for both, all using 2209.
With my 6.5 WSSM I loaded 2208 as I was out of 2209 until I got to Brisbane. This didnt work very well so I didnt use it for the last 2 days.
I had enough old 6.5 WSSM ammo loaded with 2209 to do one target.
The load I listed was for my 284 tuner barrel which I used mostly on the last 2 days. It is a pretty warm load with the new faster lot of 2209.
With my new (12 rounds old when I got to Brisbane) 7mm Short mag, I tried 2213sc and 2217. I also tested 168gn VLDs and 180 Hybrids, which I found in the end prefered to be jammed in the lands.

Rod,
You didn't mention your 30 WSM, 6 Dasher, or your new secret weapon, the 270 Winchester. And I thought you would've tried a few more powders ...

Oh yes, I did use the 6 Dasher for 300yds since the 6.5 Gertrude was not going well. 31.4gns 2206H with either 103gn Copperhead, or 105gn Hybrid when I can get either.

I wouldnt normaly experiment with powders, but with the current powder drought in NSW, I had to improvise.
I wouldnt normaly test loads or new barrels, but with a big shoot in USA in 2 weeks, needing 740 rounds each shooter (and others borrowing my gun) I needed new barrels and had no other opportunity to do load development. As it worked out, even the reject loads were as good as my previous (tuner)barrel, while the final loads were better, so I wasnt handicapped by this.
