SA hasn't had 900m in the actual Queens since I've been going there. There is a 900 in the Hunt. Actually it's the MR crowd trying to dispense with 1000 - too close!!

I personally think that we should get rid of the shorts and shoot 600yds and back. I love shooting 1000yds. It's challenging and great fun.

Barry the reason we don't have 1000yd(900) at the SARA Queens so I have been told is because the interstaters threatened that they will not attend if we included it in the Queens the 900m inclusion at the Hunt was a trial and now some locals want it squashed I’m not sure if this has been pressure from interstate acquaintances or not no real reason just they don't like it.

Or Barry may have been on the phone :P :P

I like it myself but then that's just me!

Sounds strange. In 2009, SARA asked for a show of hands for including 900 in their event, with a majority vote for inclusion.

Since I have just invested in a 280AI, I would prefer to have some longs to justify it !

Hey Seddo,
If they are only going to shoot the shorts in future. Can you place an order for me for one of those Stiller .22 rim fire actions. That's all we will need!

Seddo, Norm,

If Rosedale drops its 1000, could you arrange to angle the Moe targets round to the east, and Barry and I could shoot them from Rosedale?

Chances are it is not the fact that someone wants to add 900m/1000y that causes angst but the fact that the format of the Queens is being changed - many people don't like change. ie people pick and choose events to go to at least in part because of the format - they get comfortable with it. Change it and they are out of their comfort zone.

Would someone who attends the event every year suddenly stop going to the event because the 300m was replaced with a 900m? Unlikely.
