Well Tony is coming down from QLD, he normally does a great job at keeping us informed, maybe he can do it. Might distact him from his shooting:-)

Cheers

I will be happy to add a bit for the Teams, but i have had too much time off with a shoulder surgery and wont be staying for the Lead Up or the Queens.
I am sure that we can get copious quantities of highly reliable info from plenty of starters.....Bartman007, Raven and Brad Yates come straight to mind.
I will only have an Ipad with me , so no photos from me till i get home. Its a wonderful opportunity for anybody with a camera and a laptop to get involved and take every opportunity to take the mickey out of all and any competition

With Match Rifle underway today, its a good strong showing by QLD, with Mark Fairbairn (the big Wild Dog) on top in FTR by 2 pts from Jenni Hausler.
In F Open it looks like Jenni's husband Mirko Teglasi hasnt picked up too many bad habits shooting Target Rifle for years, coz he has snuck away to a strong 9 point lead from the red hot FNQld boys.
In Match Rifle, Tasmanian Nigel Paul has a strong 7 pt lead. He must have shifted to Tassie after being born somewhere in Qld :D :D

Conditions were apparently unreadable for a lot of today. Broken hearts everywhere .
Oh......and SA have arrived ! They actually made a spectacular entrance, dressed to the 9's and most resplendent in blazers, collar and tie, matching trousers. So regrettably the Fashions in The Field award is now a pre judged event with Richards SA boys untouchable . Well done boys! =D> =D> =D>
It actually added the final touch of class to the event and they are to be commended.
Apparently there are 147 seats booked for Wednesday nights presentation dinner, and plenty of talk about new Australian records being set already with numbers entered.
Señor Martine Loberrrrrrrrrrrrrrt also arrived, and it did not go unnoticed that the Tassie boys had indeed laid down the strip of red carpet for him to enter the Clubhouse Concourse..........or was it so that nobody had to step in the sheep shit. .??........we may never know !!
The FNQld boys obviously have hit ominous form after a slow start. With all alcohol removed from their systems, Smith and Stewart stormed to the front in F Open today with a commendable 1:2 finish.
QRA ( the little Under Dog mob from the SE of our great State) should also be proud of the massive win to the Wild Dog in FTR. 17 points clear was a massive win for Mark, so he will definitely be one to watch over the next week as well.
No sign of the much vaunted VRA team at this stage. Perhaps they had a glimpse of the splendor of the SA boys and caught the next plane back to Melbourne :D

Yes, Thanks Tony. Your reports are a godsend to those that could not attend.

Alas, Work has ultimately gotten in the road - I kept the ticket open until yesterday in the vague hope I could resurrect something from the ashes and jump on last minute (with or without a rifle and ammo!) but it wasn't to be   So I will be left trying to catch any glimpse of the action from afar.

Good luck to all - it certainly is ramping up as the best comp yet.....!!!!

Well done PJ (Smith that is). Great to see you made it all the way down there and have obviously settled in well.
also great effort Nigel in MR

But Mark - Truly Awesome effort in FTR. Keeping up with Pete and Dave with a 308 is no mean feat and the standout performance - amazing.

Dave- Peter looks to have settled well. Those bare feet are obviously strong enough to cope with tassie conditions.

Weather today varied from readable to "what the" Very enjoyable range to shoot on, very open with wind seeming to almost come into the range slower than it leaves the range. Easy from watching all the targets to have shots out of where they should be.

Tomorrow is looking to be a great day.
