Some of our mounds are concrete.
I just put our BR spikes back in the rests when on these

Don't say you are shooting on the local golf course again.

Cam yeh we do too! I'm very nervous as I'll be in Ftr and first time into it on a standard Haris bipod, just for fun ! At least the Harris has rubber feet ! Not expecting great things but expecting lots of fun and the nice NQ hospitality and supporting the fledgling class too! G

Not fledgling anymore Graham!!
F/TR has wings and is flying!
Just think back 3 years ago here in Australia to compare where we are now
Your bipod legs will be in front of the concrete if you set up normally?
Because the concrete mounds are short and climb back ip again to the rear,
Making feet quite uncomfortable unless you shoot from the front of the pad!
IE it bends your legs back up?
I have used a plate under my bipod for at least 4 yrs now to provide some consistency?

Have had the opportunity to watch a couple of the new FTR rifles being used for the first time over the past few weeks, I think the F Open guys and girls should watch out.

Fill us in on the gossip Josh. Which new shooters have taken up F/TR? Who is doing what?

Hello there , I know it's no big deal , but due to work commitments , I won't be able to make it at this stage! Very sorry !
I haven't given up totally but looks like I have to stay in little Chinchilla at the moment. Maybe I'll meet some of you at the Nats ! Best wishes Graham Sells.

Sorry Rod, sworn to secrecy, on threat of death or worse ( "they" said if I didn't keep quiet they'd bolt a scope onto my rifle which would entirely ruin it ).
New shooters, no , just the same old hacks.

Rod,
Due to the wonderful transparency of the Ozscore target systems used at Cairns (and Beaudesert, Casino, Canberra, Chidlow, Sydney, Nowra, Goulburn, Lockhart, Hill Top) which now puts our Beaudesert scores on-line "live" , anyone can log into the Cairns Results page ....select a date....and view the results for shooters on that day.
http://www.ozscore.com.au/club_stage.php?club=cairns
There is a little bit of shorthand involved, with a 3 letter "surname".....but its probably possible to work out who "Josh COX" and "Captain LOB" might be
Down below the individual target, it shows the Time Of Flight and Standard Deviation , which also gives an indication of ES. The relevance and use of the SD figure was pioneered by young Joshua at Cairns. He is not just a pretty face
Feel free to browse the Cairns results ........but there is nothing we can do about certain individuals shooting say 500 yard targets from 1000 yards, to disguise the accuracy levels that they have achieved
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Re: North Qld Queens
That won't work Tony, as Geoff has time of flight limits for each range.
I can't claim the TOF data manipulation being my idea, that goes to Dr McNamara Jnr and Professor Smith ESQ. My gift is my ability to lift heavy objects and smash things with a hammer.

Live results to the Ozscore website only applies to Beaudesert as only that range using the Ozscore system has the software that provides for this, a decent wireless connection to the internet, AND the appropriate equipment to connect wirelessly to the internet.
Live publishing of shot data on the internet is pretty much a "work in progress" and not quite the way I want it right now. So some major changes will take place in due course - when I can get around to it. There hasn't been great demand for it.
Geoff.

Re: North Qld Queens
Geoff,
I know it all costs money, and that the Range has to have decent Internet service, but a month or so ago when I was just out of hospital after having the steel plate and seven big screws taken out out of my leg (I broke it last June and it's still not right) to be able to sit at home logged in to Ozscore, and watch my Clubmates shoot,...... shot by shot ...... was just bloody awesome.
Imagine being able to sit at home and watch Queens events all over the country that you couldn't get to !!
I for one hope that the Queens all around Australia get there sooner rather than later.

Tony,
One alternative you may not have considered, go to all the shoots, anything else shows a complete lack of commitment.
It makes you look like a whinging Mexican living in qld, just, geographically speaking of course.

Re: North Qld Queens
I am fighting the urge to take Craig McGowan up on his offer to drive up to Townsville with him, and share the costs
Until I can stop limping and get a job, I just have to pull my head in and stick to doing local stuff. I just can't afford to travel away for Queens etc.
So you will just have to put up with me being a sideline whinger for now
I would kill to be there, but it's a cost I just can't meet while I am not working.
I just wish I could watch you...and others......shot by shot at these big events while I am at home feeling sorry for myself.

Re: North Qld Queens
Hi All.
We have the Hex System targets here at Mt Barker Rifle range South Australia and the live data base is fantastic.Shooting live is a great experience. The Hex experts had the live prototype up and running in 2011.It also is great to go to the Hex shooting website
http://shooting.hexsystems.com.au/ and view all shooters around Australia checking their groups.
The videos on the website giving an overview of the realtime shooting
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJhwrcZrThE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXoEDPftbqU
And here is link to the news article when Hex first demonstrated the live online.
http://www.hexsystems.com.au/latest-eve ... nal-shoot/.
We at Mt Barker were the first Club in South Australia to install The Hex Systems targets and we are still very happy with them,we get regular updates from Dmitri Kazakov as he is always on the ball with the latest technology.Bruce Daniel is also on the not shy in his role of marketing as he keeps the club fully informed with the latest news.
When the shooting matches finish in realtime the Hex System automatically post to our website the full results of the days match overall and also in Grades http://shooting.hexsystems.com.au/club/4
I thought as everyone was discussing the Electronic Targets Hex Systems need a mention as this is a great system and should not be ignored.
regards Richard
