based on the level of interest , and recognition of results, in international fclass shooting, we can all rest assured that the nraa is doing its utmost to get the event to aust. as soon as is possible.
keep safe,

It seems that Ireland (ROI) is now in the mix. Joe tells us that ROI made a bid in 2017 to host in 2025. Cheeky! No "rotation" in their eyes. (Pity we have not been kept informed by our own representatives.)

Once Australia is an official contender, there will be six countries vying to host.

Will this see the end of "rotation" and the rise of a genuine bidding process every four years?

There is no longer any doubt that Australia must bid for the 2029 FCWC.

The bid should be submitted in timely manner for it to be considered at the FCC Meeting at Bloemfontein in 2021.

John Tracey.

John, could you point out where the ruling Ian on this “official roster” or is that just heresy? I don’t see why a country that has competed at 2 events that has suitable facilities couldn’t put a bid in. Why would it be “cheeky”..... if countries want this to truly be a world wide sport, the proportion of world travel needs to be evenly distributed amongst all players.

Bruce.

I take it that you have had a whisper in your shell-like that there is an item on the Agenda for the next meeting of the NRAA Board.

Regards.

See http://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/world-economy/the-time-for-reconciliation-is-over-south-africa-votes-to-confiscate-whiteowned-without-compensation/news-story/a8a81155995b1adc1c399d3576c4c0bc.

Seems like South Africa is on the same slippery slope as Zimbabwe. This cannot be good for the chances of FCWC 2021 being held at Bloemfontein. Is it time we got a bit more serious about getting an offer in to ICFRA for Australia to host?

A bit tangential to the main point of this thread, but in the distant past I was a member of the ICFRA F-Class Committee and I quite clearly remember seeing an NRAA proposal to host the next FCWC - specifically I remember seeing the cover letter, written on NRAA letterhead and signed by Catherine Berry, if my memory doesn't fail me. This would have been 200X, where I'd have to look things up to be sure of what exactly 'X' was, but if I had to guess it was probably a bid to host FCWC 2009 (which ended up being fired in Bisley).

Hello Matt.

You are the most likely Australian F Open shooter to know of this Australian proposal (in 2002, 2005?).

A lot of misinformation has been bandied about. Some of it not relevant to the present. But it is relevant for us to know if there was a proposal in time past and what come of it.

It would be most helpful to our better understanding if, as a member of the 2002 Team (and FCC Representative?), you could provide a history of the FCC in the selection of hosts, as known to you, plus your opinions, which we appreciate. You should have no reticence in expressing your opinions.

It is unsatisfactory that the Australian F Class community has not been, and is not, kept informed. Formal expressions of disappointment should be conveyed to the NRAA Board by all Associations, with a strong recommendation that the NRAA make full disclosure of all of its dealings with the ICFRA FCC, to be published on its web site and in the ATR.

Regards,
John T.

Bruce,

with respect, this is NOT "need to know". That is the fob off for mushrooms. Mushroom cultivators are invariably a self-centered and self-interested clique. If you want to ensure the decline of F Class in Australia, let the clique develop and dominate.

If there is no openness in communicating with F Class shooters, It will be become necessary for those shooters to form their own Association to represent their interests.

John T.

Hi John
I was the ICFRA FClass delegate around that time and I know of no proposals regarding Australia holding the FCWC. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, communications was a one way street. I got very little feed back from the NRAA but remember FC was alot smaller in those days.

Team USA has called for interested people to try out for the National Team trials for Bloemfontein 2021 , trials being conducted over the next few years.
Interestingly they have picked their Captains already?
Also the US pick ready made cells that have a coach and master coach per 4 shooters.
This certainly works well for the FTR team with 3 world championships in a row.
Food for thought for the next management Team hear in Australia.
Cheers

So any information when the NRAA will look at this significant event.........Noting that Australia will be aiming for 3 in a row for OPEN and another strong finish (hopefully Gold) in FTR?

The US has already identified their Captains and Adjunants and I noticed today the announced 3 Major sponsors.

Is this something that can be commenced without the NRAA support, maybe a pre-NRAA development squad style option.
Cheers

Hi Matt P, I was the Canadian member of the ICFRA F-Class Committee at that time too. I seem to recall that NRAA did put in a proposal to host an FCWC, either the second one (which ended up being fired in Bloemfontein in 2005) or the third one (which ended up being fired in Bisley in 2009).

EDIT to add: it has been many years since I have been an F-Class shooter or a member of the ICFRA F-Class Committee, however my view today as a "private citizen" (TR shooter from the sidelines) is that I think it would be great if Australia were to host an FCWC.
