North American Adaptor

#1 Postby BC » Mon Nov 18, 2013 6:29 pm

I am going to buy a A&D FX-120i which comes with 110V North American adapter. Does anyone know if I can buy an adaptor in Australia to replace it for our electricity 240V.

Thanks. BC

Google tortech step down transformers. But beware they might be a cause of drift in precision scales like that.

BC, I have the scale you are getting and the adapter is a multi voltage/frequency unit suitable for use in Australia. Look at the plug pack when it arrives and it should have printed on the side 110-240VAC. All you need to do is drop into Dick Smith or Jaycar and buy a cheap USA to Australia pin converter so in fits into our power points. Its a great scale and the power supply, plug pack (12V-1A) works fine!
