Sightron scopes

Any comments on the new 10x50x60 Sightron scopes series 111, the price is right and the warranty is ime told, over the counter replacement here in Australia, anyone have one? , or 8x32, sounds good to me so far, Chop

Yes, I have a new 10-50X and I like it. The optics are good, it looks good. Yes, the knobs are pretty easy to turn, but that isnt realy a problem. I thought the easy turn knobs were good. It doesnt upset the gun when you look through the scope and adjust the cross hairs to where you want them. Turned up to 50X, the picture does get a bit darker if it is cloudy, while if it is a bright day, it sems to get a whitish tinge at 50X. No problem though and at 45X it is spot on. I dont know about strength/reliability yet as I have only taken a few shots through it. I bought it due to its lower weight (than Nightforce) allowing me to use my gun in Light Gun class if I decide to go that way.

does the eye relief remain the same when the power adjusts?
if it does, this scope would have a lot to offer.

I,m not realy sure. I know I havent had any problems with eye relief though. When I,m next at home in daylight (whenever that is??) I will have a look.

you make a good point about the weight. better in a barrel than a scope, all being equal.
i had an nxs that showed a bit of colour on its max power, so this scope might be in that class.
how many minutes of verticle adjustment does it have?
there seem to be a few scopes coming available now.

It has around 45 moa of adjustment.

another one to look at is the ior valdada 36x.
the reticle has a 1/8 min dot, with 1 min hash marks on the cross hairs, which would suit our job.

I also have an SIII 10-50x60, as a relative new convert to the dark side, my scope experience is limited but I have found the optics very good.

I’m still trying to come to grips with my “F” class technique with lots of things changing each shot, but variation in eye relief with power adjustment hasn’t been apparent to me.

I like the fact that I have 50 MOA elevation, with large easy to use knobs with 10 MOA per revolution. I hope the 50 MOA windage will be enough to cope with the winds that Rosedale seems to always have when we visit, not a problem we have at Lang Lang.

The scope doesn’t come with a sun shade or caps, but I purchased them from Sightron direct for $49 US.

Hi captain!

Sorry I didn't get back to you for a chat on saturday at Karamomus.
You may or may not be aware that Phil and Di Jonkers use Sightron scopes. Di has the 8-32x56 SIII, while Phil is using a 10-50x60.
I know this cos I was talking to Phil and took a look at Di's scope late Saturday arvo prior to ordering one locally. I also did some research via the net of them and I see the 8x32.. has 70 moa of adjustment, while the 10x50.. has 50 moa. Also the eye relief for either is rated at ..(if i recall correctly).. 4" down to 3.4" as the power increases.

I have also learnt that Chris could have probably got 1 for me at a better price through the VRA!

Hello All,
I have a 10-50X60. Excellent scope...... except the turrets. The turrets are very loose and therefore move very easily. My index finger running along the bottom will rotate the turret 1 or 2 points without you knowing!!!!
Anyone know how or who could fix that?

Superglue?

Back a ways, a lot of us used the Nikko Stirling 16x scope on our match rifles as it was the entry level scope that had enough windage & elevation. Those who felt that the turret adjustments were too tight would remove the "O" ring at the base of the adjustment shaft that was used as a sort of moisture seal. Maybe you could introduce a similar device into the system to act as a break.

Inserting an O ring at the bottom of the turret could be worth a try,thanks for the reply.
