Yeah, I dropped one in first round also - too nervous to wait for returning wind condition and underestimated its affect. It’s such a scenic place, and as always, fun crowd.

Day 2 of the lead up
I had a good nights sleep apart from the constant clanging of flag ropes against the poles!
Using a dasher today might be akin to a knife to a gunfight?
Anyhoo a lovely day weather wise

Re: NSW Queens
Ok at the 700 I had 8 mins of wind on - never been there before
First 800 - 11 mins
After I shot someone had 12 on a big 7mm
Lunchtime now
We have a 15 shot after lunch
The dasher is going better than I thought it might

Tim, what you heard last night was the ringing of the bells of Westminster Abbey.

WARA has the next State Championship meeting but I would wager all badges have already been produced with "Queens " embroidered on them.

Re: NSW Queens
A decent first day at the Queens today with a bit of everything - it was raining steadily to start the morning at 500 and thankfully the rain eventually gave way before the afternoon sun poked through, along with some wind - although nothing like yesterday apparently. In F-Open it's a battle of the Matt's, as Matt Paroz holds a narrow lead over Matt Foster on X's with both clean for the day. Sporting Hunter is proving popular with 12 shooters taking part and rattling through their stages well. 1st through 4th in FTR are separated by 2 points and 3 points separates 1st to 7th in F-Std.
With a tailwind forecast for tomorrow, there could be some moves up and down the leaderboards.

Re: NSW Queens
Day 2 of the Queens is down, and it was a day that had a bit of everything - overcast conditions with mild winds early on quickly gave way to sunshine and VERY switchy winds causing competitors no end of challenges to deal with, and as today showed, sometimes timing was everything. Some shooters clocked up great scores at the first 600 match, however as the day wore on, so did the wind shifts and the second 15 shot match at 600 saw some shooters drop up to 15 points as Malabar showed how brutal it could be, even if the wind strength itself was average.
A 15 shot match at 700 metres this afternoon proved just as challenging for many, with points being lost out both sides of the target and we had a rain shower hit a few shooters mid-stage which also proved problematic with ammo and actions becoming slick quite quickly.
Target rifle is proving to be a very close fought affair with Jim Jeffrey holding a narrow lead on V bulls. In F-Std, Trevor Rhodes from Victoria holds a 7 point lead heading into Day 3 but if conditions are anything like today, 7 points can disappear quite quickly! F-Open is proving to be quite intriguing as the battle of the Matt's changed places today, with Matt Foster proving ultra consistent to take a 1 point lead from Matt Paroz into Day 3. Gary Faulkner holds a narrow lead in FTR while Wu Lau holds a 1 point in Sporting Hunter class as we move into 800 metres tomorrow. With more tailwinds forecast, pretty much every discipline is still to play for as today highlighted.
