Shane
Loaded up some more 136 Scenar-L,
Rifle is 6.5 Creedmoor howa 26” varmint barrel, pillar and beded by Phil Mastin ( did a fantastic job) in GRS laminate stock.
COL 2.846
40 gn 2209
15 thou from lands
2 groups of 3 shots at 100 yards cloverleaf and 1 at 9 mm centre to centre ( I only fired 10 rounds, first shot being learning round)
So maybe I was a little premature is discarding these rounds, I don’t have a chronograph so don’t know ES or velocity. I’m taking the same round to Mareeba tomorrow and shooting 300 yards so will give an up date on how it all goes.
Cheers
Mozzie

My truck doesn’t run on love, it runs on diesel.
However, I love my rifle and it runs on lead.

Update
Not terrible, not but brilliant, chased them all around the v bull with only a couple of V to show for my efforts.
Thinking I might move over to the hornady eld m in 140 gn instead of chasing these projectiles.

G'day Mozzie,
If your going to switch over to the eldm 140 with 2209... dont be frightened to try seating depths a LOT farther off the lands than what guys normally run.....

Im talking 25mm groups at 41 grains 2209 with cci 200 in large starline brass at 300 yards with upwards of 0.170 jump. Go to bergers site and find their instructions for finding their vld bullet seating depths and then go a little farther again. I found the eldm needed big jump in my howa 26 inch.

Just watch out for pressure of course like usual, especially around the lands. I wasted over 400 rounds till finally nutted it out. Its under the "Vld" section of their blog.

Did some more testing at 700m on Saturday.
These were at 42.2gr and 42.3gr of RL16.

Shane and bobbyaxe
Don’t know if your still playing around with the 6.5 Creedmoor and RL 16 but I’m starting to get some interesting results using Nosler RDF 140 gn behind 43.3 gn RL ( very close to max ) with a 55 thou jump.
Cheers
