Amax Cost

Post by littlebang556 »

Is that a cost delivered in oz because I saw them for $99/600 in the states or 16.5 cents ea. Wonder what sort of a deal the NRAA has established?

Even at 28c ea we will still get 100 or so for free in comparison to Sierra or will the powers to be sort them out to be the same price.

The NRAA,by bringing in the early introduction date has not had time to finalise agreements and supply arrangements. It is all explained in the letter posted on the NRAA website. It also explains the reason and circumstances behind their decision.I would suggest that all shooters read this letter as it also hits on some legal points!!!!

Cleavers in Queensland had them for about 26c each when buying a 600 pack.

Amax Loads

Post by littlebang556 »

Has anyone played around with the Amax to find suitable powders or jump required for this round to be as competitive as the Sierra?
What barrel lengths? Loads? Twist? etc...

Would love to know what works and what doesn't and if people are indeed getting better results other than on paper so to speak.

Regards

If the NRAA and Associations could supply at this price or better would be awesome. Around $80/1000 (basically 4kg free powder every 3000 rounds) cheaper than Sierra, would be a deciding factor to change without going further into ballistics.
Pricing could well have a part to play in getting more people into the sport.

Rob, Im really new to TR and I'll agree, the reason I keep shooting my .22s more is because the cost of ammo for centrefire. Alot of people will see the cost for getting ammo and such and just jump out of there skulls and they think that it costs too much. Its easier to justify 500rds of .22LR for around $50 compared to 20rds of .308 Win for $21. But, the other factor is that when people have been shooting .22 for a while, they then want something bigger and that will perform out further so they start looking at the .223 and .308.

Btw, Im a Uni student that works 2 days a week, and I can just manage $21/20rds each weekend.

Just my 0.02c worth guys.
