185gn Juggernauts in FTR?

Post by DenisA »

Hi All,

I'm interested to know what speeds the FTR guys are running 185 Jugg's at?

What's the approximate AR2208 powder charge weight?

From other threads, I'm assuming that people are using 185 dedicated barrels that have been throated longer?

I don't mean to try others loads without my own testing. Just keen to know what's working for others.

Thanks...

I found my good node at about 2880fps Dennis, using 47gr N150 1:12 twist PMC primers, LR cases.

This for your 300? Or you trying FTR?

Yep throated to suit your 185's of choice.
Mine is 2850fps with 45.7 of 2208 in a 1-11T with Juggs. probably need to fine tune it a bit more to get the best from it. so far have tried jumping and jammed,.... against advice, mine liked to be jumped. Disclaimer, not suited to your setup.
cheers

Thanks guys.

Jason, I have a Factory Savage 30" SS FTR .308 barrel here in 12 twist. Not very nice to look at with a bore scope but apparently it shoots tight groups. I also have a Tactical 24" 10 twist .308. I have a Master Piece Arms stock coming for that in the next few weeks hopefully. I thought that since NARC has started running FTR this year I'd put a rifle together for some club shoots only. Wont cost me anything, it'll make use of a barrel that I had no plans for and save barrel life on my F-Open rifles.

Just considering my options.........

What's the best way to go about getting a SEB Joypod?
