Hello can anyone explain the decline of popularity of these projectile's for use in F STD, they have a very high advertised BC (.504 g1) compared to other options but i don't know of many if anyone at our club that uses them.
Are they a good option or are there issues with quality or pricing and availability?

Personally, they're just expensive and can be a bit hard to find. Great projectiles though.

Hi Jase.
There is nothing wrong with Sierra 2156c. I use them all of the time and they compare with Berger 155.5's ( which Jenny uses ) In fact in my second rifle I use Sierra 2155 's which perform just as well with the added advantage they will shoot well in a 14 twist barrel where the 2156 and Berger 155's are marginal.
Bergers are very good but they are not the only projectile in the world.
I actually find Sierra's more consistent dimensionally ( Base to ogive and length of bearing surface ) BC is not the be all to end all in shooting.

Re: Sierra 2156c Projectiles
Im just looking at options to try for a rifle i'm having built, if they are consistent and as far as i can see they seem to be priced well compared to the 155.5 bergers at least here in SA. Im running an 11t barrel so twist rate wont be a problem, looks like i will have to get some to try when the new rig is ready

SMK 2156 is a great bullet, but now pricey. Have you tested the HBC? Every bit as good and much more affordable.

I haven't tested anything yet as my rifle isn't ready, i have used hbc's in my current rifle and they are quite good. Just looking at what different options we may have available to us.
