Dual Stop Butts

Post by Walt »

Is anyone aware of any rifle range in Australia that incorporates a dual, in line, Stop Butt system? Walt

Geelong has a fixed, covered shooting mound and a separate stop butt for each distance out to 900 yds.
There are a couple of others --North Arm I think is one, Cannon Hill at Belmont is another.

Yeh, we shoot 600yrds on our main butts at North Arm and a hundred yrds further up the range is our 700yrd butts, shot from the same mound as we shoot 600.

Sorry for the shitty photo, but, 600 is below the first lot of numbers and 700 is above the second set. Both shot from the same mound.

Stockton shut down in 1997 and I beleive is now a housing development after the military sold off the land.
Well, so I've been told by family down there.

Sad to say Cannon Hill no longer. No more Match Rifle in Brisbane.
