Hi All
I would like to discuss 556 barrels.
I have tried Madco,Krieger and True flite.
Has anyone tried any different types as I would like to get other shooters opinions on what they have found good to use and how many rounds they get through them before they expire.
I enjoyed the True Flite 30 inch,it produced very tight groups.
A few shooting friends have had sucess with the MAB 28 inch after lapping each shot in with auto solv when running in the barrel.
I would appreciate your feedback
Cheers Rich

Hi rich,
I have a MAB barrel that has done around 3000 rounds and still groups under 0.5 moa out to 600 yards. My Dad has just had a lilja SS fitted by Shane Clancy. It shoots 10 shot groups that measure 3/8 from the outside to outside at 100 yards during load testing and he shot 100.17 at 500 yards last weekend.
Hope this helps.

Firepower usally means an increased number of misses per minute. 50 misses are not firepower. One hit is firepower

Hi Rich I've had great results out of M.A.B. barrels having two that will normally hold better than .5 moa and one of them has done 4000 rounds. Load details can be found in the fullbore forum under 5.56 conversions. I'll have no hesitation fitting another of their barrels when the time comes. Regards Malcolm

How you going rich,
I think the old man has settled on about 24.8 of 2208 with rem cases, win primers out of the 28 inch lilja for about 2900-2950 fps.
Last time I used my 223 at 300yards I had the spotter put in the hole and the next shot hit the carstration ring holding the stick on the spotter on the left side the next shot hit the right side of the ring and the last shot took a chunk of the stick out and drove the rest thorugh the target ,so in my estimation it was a 4 shot group under half inch at 300 yards, My next barrel will also be a lilja after seeing dads results and I have a lilja in my 6mmbr Fly rifle and I cannot fault their performance. I use lapua cases, fed primers 25.0 of 2208 out of the 26 inch MAB for about 2850fps
I hope this helps.
