I just found out that I won the FS grand at Bendigo.
I had to do a bolter immediately after my carload finished shooting because my mother had a stroke Monday evening & at 96 is less than well equipped to handle it. Apart from that, I'm the oldest of her children & the one expected to make the decisions.
As a principle, I believe that it is incumbent on us all where possible to stay for any PM presentation, particularly a Queens, to honour the winners. Under other circumstances I would have been there standing for the chairing ceremony and to cheer Ken Melgaard on his outstanding performance with that little .223 of his. Heck, I could have got a deal of pleasure hearing my name called too!
I think under the circumstances everyone would understand, we had a similar situation with Trevor's mother a few back at our Queens, sadly she passed away a few months later.
I hope all is well with your mother, it's a grand age and it would be nice to see her make the 100.
