G'day Jeff

A great achievement...pass on our congratulations.

I am assuming that this was at 1000 yards...correct?

Well done for having a pal like that Jeff!

Given that those projectiles are flat base, would be interesting to know what the conditions were like?

3.048" at 1000yds, jeeze. Who will be the first to get a 1000yd group into the 2s? I heard this gun has a big water cooled barrel, any pics of it?

Joel Has been right near the top of ten shot HG in the world all of 2008 ,so this comes of no real surprise to me that he has finally done it in '
09 .. He had a number of groups that went 2.4 to 2.7ins for 9 shots in '08 ,good to see the Gods allow a window to let the final one to come in together.. He shoots a 187BIB Flat Base( RW BC is .525) at 3200 fps so the wind drift is not to ugly , the trick is in the vertical dispersion.. Common to see Joel's vertical to be less than 2 inchs at 1K .. He has a new 17 lbs gun coming shortly that i have had a hand in ,this i do believe will reset the LG record too.. As it stands presently , the World record / IBS record / NBRSA record / and the Aust record have all been shot with the 187 BIBS and 3 of the 4 were with a Tensioned Barrel concept .. I see a pattern here (smile)..JR..Jeff Rogers Image

John ,you must have different targets to the rest of the world ,on the ones i use that scores an 80 .On the Hawks Ridge range to middle of the coarse is some 300 ft below the bullets path(No Flags at all) so i for would not be concerned if the low one took it from 2.5ins to 3.0ins .But hey thats me..JR..Jeff Rogers[quote="johnk"]Only scored 90 - bugger!

Thanks Jeff...I just read the write-up on BR Central...very interesting looking rifle.

Just after I posted my first reply I realised that the group could actually be covered by the palm of your hand...now that is very impressive at 1000 yards.

I would love to turn up to a F class standard shoot with a rifle which looks like that. It would have the earth is flat brigade up in arms.

Earth is flat brigade.....that is funny, I like it. I know exactly what you mean. I know a lot of people that think a Barnard action is "new" to the market (they typically use an Omark), and that these "new fangled" stainless steel barrels are only a passing fad.
