We all missed you Paul,

there were some great scores at 500 and 600 yds in the morning,

but in the afternoon at 700 the flags were hanging, and the mirage was very difficult to read. Those read it well came out on top.

Dave Zerbe won his first OPM with some great shooting.

Congrats to Dave, he shot & read the conditions better than most, a well deserved win. =D>
Just another of the SA state team in fantastic form....
A nice introduction for my 280ai also, didn't come home with any chocolates, though was quite enthuised.
A great day at Pirie, will see a few more of you up there next year I hope.

Congratulations to Dave on his first FO #1 badge (1st FO badge at Pt. Pirie)

He shot exceptionally well.

Looks like the new competition training & diet regime, consisting sleep deprivation coupled with shooting with butt cheeks firmly clenched for fear of “sharting” under recoil is paying dividends.

Congrats to the winners and everyone else, sorry we couldn't be there this year.

If you mean the first FO badge presented at Pt Pirie, it's actually not, they used to have FO previously but it wasn't well enough supported so they stopped having it. I'm very pleased that there is now enough FO support for the club to reintroduce it at their OPM.

Interesting Lynn I was under the impression that it was only F-Class that was shot back then.
There was no distinction between the FS cal's and FO Cal's
As the sport progressed the 2 disciplines became know as FS & FO
So who has the 1st number 1 badge for FO at the Pt Pirie OPM and what year was it?

BTW it was DaveZ first No1 FO Badge
Steve Walters first No1 FS Badge
Alison's 1st No.1 A grade TR badge
I congratulate all the winners well done in some interesting conditions on the last range.

RB :)

Richard it was definitely Std and Open separately and it was for at least a couple years but without some effort I don't recall the dates. As to who has the 1st No1 badge, I don't recall but the last time they had it Michael was the only FO entrant and he accepted the badge but declined the trophy (goodies) as he felt it was not viable for the club with only one entrant.

Edit: I went and had look through Michaels badges and he has a No 1 FO badge from 2005 so I guess that was when they stopped having it.

Ordinarily speaking, yes it is. But on this occasion being an important post I sought help from one of our brighter T/R members. So I can’t lay credit to it entirely.

Literacy and numeracy standards amongst some of the F-Class shooters in our club is bordering on crisis levels. Typical of this was yesterday when three (nameless) individuals who were out at our club attending one of Mr Chuckles, Gun Pimping classes, took time off to shoot a couple of details at 700. When it came time for the them to do their scoring duties they were completely lost. They all were totally incapable of writing down a 9, they all managed to write a 10 but the remainder of their score card were just X’s.

There was one notable F-Classer who seems not to be so possessed with pimping and actually managed to include 3 X 10’S to his score card, but alas he too was incapable of putting down a 9.

As for my score, well my name must have slipped under the radar and I must have been drawn with the intelligentsia who had no trouble putting down a few 9’s on my card.

mr o,
i think that's why jeff is coming over to ctv when his new open gun is built.
to further his wordsmithing skills!
and to go into advanced levels of the gunpimping artform.
keep safe,
bruce.
